Tepextate + Sierra Negra | November 2021 | Hermógenes Vásquez García | ENNHMG2111 | Fall 2022 Release | 72 bottles

This unique field blend, masterly crafted by Hermógenes Vásquez and family, incorporates two extremely different species of agave endemic to the region of Miahuatlán. Made with nearly equal percentages of these two agaves, this combination of a very rare  A. americana cultivar known as Sierra Negra with Tepextate (A. marmorata) is a highly expressive marriage of the telltale flavors and aromas that define both of these species in their own right.

During the days surrounding the full moon of October 2021, Hermógenes and family harvested a mix of cultivated and wild agaves from the lands that compose and surround their Piedra Lisa parcel of land. After waiting for nearly 15 years for these agaves to mature, three large and capón Sierra Negra agaves from a cultivated stretch of tierra negra were harvest and designated to be mixed with 12 piñas of Tepextate collected from the steep and extremely rocky ravines just below.
