Madrecuixe capón | June 2025 | Hermógenes Vásquez García |MDXHMG2506 | Spring 2026 release | 256 bottles | PM National release
This release of capón Madrecuixe made by Hermógenes Vásquez García was crafted with agave harvested from two parcels in neighboring communities around Logoche. The maguey and its spirit reflect the lands and biocultural legacy of the Miahuatlán region. In the days surrounding the full moon of May, Hermógenes harvested nearly 6,000kg of Madrecuixe from a gravelly red‑earth parcel in nearby El Sauz, Xitlapehua and another 2,000kg from a rocky parcel in El Chino, Mengolí.
Using three 220‑liter containers, Hermógenes filled each one with blends of heads, hearts, and tails. From the total 600‑liter production we selected the container that most clearly expressed the characteristic earthy aromatics of Madrecuixe.
